bookshelves: adventure, history, non-fiction, travel-diaries, antarctica, marathon-running

Running marathons in Antarctica, imagine that. Yes, it is all for real. There is both an Antarctic Marathon and an Ice Marathon. You can read in detail about the Antarctic Marathon in this book, along with quite a bit of polar expedition history (Tom Crean, this guy was amazing). The Antarctic Marathon includes a trip through the Drake Passage on a boat. If I could run I would do these marathons. As I sit here with my aching hips, dream on!
