really liked it

3.5 stars.

The writing was more my style. Short sentences. Straight to the point Not a lot of tireless descriptions. But it was the plot that I struggled with. For example, it seemed to take Po and Katsa FOREVER to get to where Bitterblue (coolest name ever)was. I was really getting bored. I did like the part leading up to the climax where Katsa takes Bitterblue over the impossible pass. The author did a good job of testing her character's strength with the only thing that could really test it - nature. But then came the climax. It was was so bizarre. I was holding my breath when she saw the King, for about three paragraphs, and then Bam! it was all over. Problem solved. Serious. It was like in one page. And then there's a bunch more pages after that that slowly sums everything up. Ho hum.

Even though I did have some issues with the book, I would read the author's other books.
