it was amazing

Was shocked to discover this is a self-published book, as the quality of writing, as well as the story itself, far exceeds what one might expect from such fare. Beckett is a deft wordsmith and his story propels the reader rapidly onward throughout. I would categorize it as "romantica," though it is more instructional albeit through a fictional tale. Without getting too much into the dreaded spoiler arena, I was pleasantly pleased that this sex-positive tale did not digress into the worn-out puritanical trope that those who venture off the beaten path are punished for their transgressions (think of the horror movies where the kids get killed the moment after they have sex).

Cooper Beckett happy to shock you! :) My goal is removing all the identifiers of self publishing. Thanks for the lovely review, and I hope you check out the sequel!

Kerry Zukus Did you attempt traditional publishing? This is certainly good enough, and should have attracted an agent and publisher. Will check out the sequel.

Very early on in my career I did, and found the prospect immensely frustrating. I know a number of authors who all pointed out I'd have to do just about the same amount of work being traditionally published as indie, and this way I'd get to control the story. There are pitfalls, sure, but I'm glad I went indie. I think my work is unique enough that it'd take a brave publisher with vision to work with me, and most publishers wouldn't ever be classified as brave.
