really liked it
bookshelves: 2019-shelf, borrowed, kindle, historical-fiction, mystery-thriller

I really wanted to save this one until #15 was out. but I caved. #sorrynotsorry I love seeing Maisie mature into herself. She exhibits a kind of grace that we all need more of. also intelligence, insight and intuition.

I am fascinated by stories set in "England between the wars" but Maisie's story has helped me see that setting in a different way. "between the wars" wasn't even 20 years ... the teenagers in WWI were the parents in WWII. two wars (or maybe three or four) in that short span ... it's mind-boggling.
