Washington's Spies: The Story of America's First Spy Ring

I didn’t know very much about the American Revolution before reading this book, but, thanks to the author’s great pains to provide detail and back story, I feel much more informed. I never realized just how complicated this conflict really was. It was neat to read of the sacrifice and honor of those who sought to do what they believed was right, especially in the face of many others who abused the war time climate for their own personal gain. War is always a place to see the best and worst of humanity.
I recommend only if you like detail and tons of information, as I found the book dragged at many points and felt like a high school history book at times, while at other times I was riveted and couldn’t put it down. If you don’t mind information overload and you appreciate history, this is the book for you. If you’re looking for a quick, exciting read, probably not so much.
