liked it

I didn't expect much, so thought it was a nice, harmless space-romp that put some bones around the saliva-inducing trailer on the OR website. The writing could have been from a 'how to write a novel' textbook--all the elements were there, yet the narrative never rose above the mass produced D&D etc. genre (the author has apparently done a few of those as well). The attempt to make the main characters three-dimensional is a bit too transparent, with all of them having a love/care-interest, even the evil Darth Malgus, whose affair with the Twi'lek Eleena is a bit too close to Episode III--especially since we all know how convincing that was... Sometimes (as with Darth Maul) the characters work better if we *don't* know their inner thoughts and conflicts. Anyway, not great, not bad.
