really liked it
bookshelves: fantasy, quality-characters-w-disabilities, strong-female-characters

What I feel about the characters and setting was covered in my review of the first book and hasn't changed.

I'm enjoying the arcs some of the characters are on, such as where Helene is going (oh man I feel bad for her, but I'm also super excited about her hanging in there and wish she'd just kick all the Augurs in their teeth with her armoured boots (but I get a sneaking suspicion the augurs are ultimately angling for a good end but have to drag everyone through hell to get there)).

That twist, y'all! (view spoiler) I did not see it coming! It makes sense, but it wasn't until they started doing the right before it happens break down, and I was all what what what?!

I also enjoyed the expansion of the magic side of things.

A good continuation of the series.
