There's some YA I like, but generally not this kind of "romance at high school" kind of thing. It all seemed very juvenile, and would probably appeal to tweens who would like to imagine what high school romances might be like.

There were some good philosophical moments throughout the book, yet Lara Jean didn't seem 100% believable to me. In some ways, she seemed too mature for 16, like when she said:

“I need peace,” I say, closing my eyes. “I need to replenish myself with peace.”

Do 16-year-olds think like that these days? I didn't, when I was 16. That seems more like something a busy mom of four might think.
