The premise of this book is really cool in my opinion: a ward especially for paranormal patients.

Sadly enough it takes more than a cool premise to write an engaging book.

This book certainly has its merits, the world building is cool, there are some really intriguing characters, but overall I thought the story was cluttered and chaotic. There were just too many unconnected things going on. And at times that some events finally did connect it felt forced.

I also didn't like Edie. She was a bit too hard boiled for my tastes and there might have been reasons for her being like that, but that didn't change the fact that I didn't feel any connection with her. This is probably also why the romantic storyline felt unconvincing to me.

In the end this was an entertaining, although chaotic read. I don't think I will read the next book in this series though.
