It was a very interesting read. Tennyson wrote this as an elegy for his lost friend. however, from reading the book sometimes it seems like he is speaking about a lover and not just a friend. One of the things that surprised me the most is to find that the quote " It is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all."
