A touching tale about the lives of three women in Cuba: a slave girl, the rich man's daughter, and the foreign visitor from Sweden. Although written in verse, the book is based on the actual journals and sketches of Fredericka Brenner (1801-1865) Sweden's first woman novelist and one of the world's earliest advocates for woman's rights.
