I might be biased, but as a massive fan of the show, I believed that I'd enjoy this book no matter what it delivered to me. Stranger Things: The Other Side shows us a story of what happened to Will Byers on the Upside Down during the first season of the show. The story could be more creative and explorative, however, I completely understand the boundaries that Jody Houser had to face here.

I liked the consistent references to Dungeons & Dragons, the roleplaying of Will as Will the Wise, and the Upside Down's version of Christmas' lights incident (although it was not scientifically explained, but again, this is a work of fiction after all so it's okay). Also, I'm a big fan of the art style, so props to the artists! It suited Stranger Things' vibes perfectly.

Thank you Random House and Edelweiss+ for providing me with an advanced reader copy in exchange for an honest review.
