This book delves into the sickness of meat eating (carnism) it is a gift for being non-threatening, and exceptionally well researched. It makes thinking about meat far less scary for many people and more about why we don't eat dogs, but we do pigs (at least in some religions) and cows. The same goes for our current political debate on horses.

Unlike some books, this one causes most to have serious discussions about what people in the US and Canada are doing to animals, and the reasons why. It is critical to talk about politics, money, front groups, and this isn't the way farming was designed by any means.
