Black Sun (Between Earth and Sky, #1)

I've been a fan of Rebecca's work for two years, and within that short span of time, she has quickly become one of my favorite authors. The first novel of her Earth and Sky trilogy continues to impress me on what a skilled writer is really is. The four main characters that are followed throughout the novel are all powerful in their own ways, yet remain to be as flawed as any human in the real world. The magic and world-building is top notch as always. I love that she told a story set within a fictional pre-Columbian Americas. It's fair to say that that's something you don't read everyday in epic fantasy novels, yet should be seen way more often.
Black Sun is a stunning start to, what is sure to be, one hell of ride of a trilogy. The ending will leaving you craving for more; a sure sign that Rebecca never fails to deliver with genre-defying writing.
