A Sick Dat for Amos McGee is about a older man named Amos worked at the zoo. He is friends with many animals and each day he has routine of interacting with them. He actually has a routine about everything it seems. His alarm wakes him up at the same time every morning in which he waits for the bus to pick him up at the expected time of six o'clock. One day, Amos wakes up not feeling too well so he stays home to rest. Amos' animal friends at the zoo get a little impatient due to his absence so they, like any good friend would do, go to his house to check up on him to make sure everything i okay. When they arrive and learn that Amos is sick, they all do what they can to cheer him up and in return, do onto Amos as Amos has done onto each one of them. Amos finally starts to get better and they have a tea with a good story to follow before it was time to go home.

I thought this was a great story that displays the importance of the golden rule- "Do onto others as you would want them to do onto you."
