I've read several Sonya Sones books before, so I knew I liked the author's style, but I would say the subject matter of this book was quite darker in many ways than the books of hers I've read in the past, even though her books often tackle tough subjects. At times it was almost hard to get through because it was disturbing and speaks frankly about sexual abuse and sexual blackmail. I probably would have given the book 5 stars, except I was disappointed it ended before we could see Luke get caught and punished. I really wanted to see her parents realize what a horrible guy they were friends with and turn on him.
