I read this book in one day. Since Betsy's character in the last book (Kelly's Chance) was so snooty, I had to see if she had changed her ways.

This book takes place 4-5years after Book 1 left off. Besty had left home to pursure a missionary calling. A bad experience in New York and the kindness of a stranger helped Betsy chance her ways.

Besty receives a telegram informing her of her father's recent poor health, so she returns to WalnutPort. Pastor Nelson's heart is failing, and Betsy stays by his side. He is forced to give up his congrrgation and the Church looks for a new minister.

Besty meets a prospective pastor in Cooper's store. He is offered the job by the churh board and Besty has to deal with her feelings of losing the home she's every known and cope with her father's worsening illness.

I'll leave my review at that. If you want to know more, you'll have to read the book yourself. :)
