I really enjoyed this book. It was a thoughtful story, giving each character their own depth and dimension. Terra comes to terms with what true beauty is. Terra's mom comes to terms with what she wants for herself in her life. Jacob is a breath of fresh air. Terra and Jacob are able to be who they truly are with each other, though Terra's journey takes a bit longer. Even the characters who don't quite have it all figured out, at least they take a step in a new direction. I liked Terra and Jacob's gradual friendship and relationship. Of course I don't agree with all of Terra's actions (pre and post meeting Jacob), but I'm glad she takes ownership of her mistakes and makes the extra effort in the end to redeem herself and be herself. Plus the explorations of China and art add just an extra bit of beauty to the whole journey to finding oneself.
