did not like it
bookshelves: young-adult-novel, magic-plays-a-part, character-has-hidden-identity, hated-it
Read in November, 2015

The Good:

- I don't mind Isabelle, Alec, Maia, Simon, and Magnus are all alright on their own and/or in groups.
- Maia/Simon are cute together, though I'm not terribly interested in them becoming a long term couple.

The Bad:

- Magnus/Alec is. . .very poorly done. Like, why do they even want to be together? Really need more development.
- Jace, Clary, and Jace/Clary are just terrible. Boring, annoying, and dumb. I'm just not interested.
- The pace of this novel is slow. Most of the plot is pointless. You could probably skip it and be okay going into the rest of the series.

The Random:
- I think I would like this a lot more if the author would really focus on the original stuff. And, if the lead characters weren't so dumb and annoying.
