This surveys and categorizes the works of HJ; some of the categories are notebooks, early stories, social novels, ghost stories, masterpieces, and plays; it's a good way to figure out what you want to read, but you have to skip that section before you read the piece, so you don't spoil it. There is good information about some of the authors that HJ knew and was influenced by; it introduces the idea that HJ knew more major authors than anyone else. I read "Washington Square" because it sounded interesting, and it was good. People who work with children in custody situations might find "What Maisie Knew" interesting.
