Le Freak: An Upside Down Story of Family, Disco, and Destiny
Jan 21, 2012
I judge the quality of a memoir or autobiography by how I feel when I'm finished. For example the Keith Richards book, I felt like I knew the person afterwards. I don't feel like I know Nile Rodgers that well at all. It's an engrossing book and full of celebrities (his stories of Madonna stand out). But the description of his addiction and illness felt rushed impersonal. And there wasn't a whole lot about his creative process, or maybe I just wanted more detail.
