really liked it

Queenie starts slowly but before you know it you're watching her make plenty of bad decisions. Much of the novel is pre-occupied with her internal thoughts, memories and feelings. However it never feels plodding, and the moments where the patois comes through took me right back to Jamaica.

Theres an honesty to this novel, a sense of raw nerves, which makes it very refreshing and gives a credible look into the life of a twenty something a South London woman with a jamaican background.

Looking forward to this authors next book.
