A fantasy quest written in three parts: Homeless; Homeward; Home. The first part I struggled to get into, the second piqued my interest and by part three I was hooked. At first the parts seemed separate entities, but by the end it became apparent that they were linked by the themes of love and loss (and a chimpanzee). The book, especially the first two parts, had the feeling of a French farce that seemed to normalise somewhat by part three. Although I hated, but tolerated, this book initially I am glad I stuck with it and ultimately enjoyed it.
