If you occasionally find yourself reading Kristen Ashley books and thinking they are too long, this author seems like a great substitute. This book has all of the KA hallmarks: laconic, hyper-possessive, secretive H's; naive h's that are wanted by every man in town; cartoonishly bad OWs; a plethora of hot men who are being done wrong by their current women and therefore in need of a book of their own; and some sort of tiresome external crime-related drama that holds it all together.

This book is a fast read (<200 pages), with insta-love being used instead of characterization. But it has the very huge advantage of not having the following KA space-fillers:

Lengthy description of supposedly fashionable outfits that nevertheless are impossible to imagine;
Pages and pages of the h dithering and drawing incorrect conclusions;
Many Alpha who blathers on and on about his connection with the h, but otherwise tells the h nothing; and
A group of friends who are all colorful characters and insist on going out drinking and talking about the hotness of the men in their circle.

Will I seek out this author again? Probably not. But if you like what KA provides, you might like this.

Naksed How many chin lifts? How many "Babe!" utterances by the hero? How many times does the heroine get together with her "girls" to dress up in "kick-ass" outfits and paint the town red?

LoL I love your summing up of KA :)

Thanks!

That was the beauty of it -- there was no time for kick-ass outfits and town-painting! To be fair, though, the H was the equivalent of a chin lift in everything he did.
