it was amazing
bookshelves: favorites, novels-before-1980

I read the bulk of this book on an Amtrak train from Chicago to Los Angeles. It kept me up late at night with the tiny lights on above my tilted seat. It's largely a mystery and great family drama but there are some tremendous truths in here about the human psyche. I always love Dostoevsky's fearlessness and the fact that his fantastic "Grand Inquisitor" tale is wrapped up in the middle is reason enough to rush out and gobble up every last page of this magnificent tome!
