it was amazing

I downloaded this sequel the moment I realized it was available - as in five minutes after finishing the first. As sophomore novels go, I always hesitate to have any expectations. In many popular novel series, the sequel always seems to be slightly lackluster. That is certainly not a problem that Ms. Bartol has with this novel. For the second day in a row, I was absolutely enthralled with the story, the characters that seem to jump off the page with such life it's honestly hard to swallow at times. While I thought it was an interesting twist to have Russell narrate majority of the book, I found myself missing Evie's voice and was ever so grateful when it came back.

My heart just breaks for Evie - so lost, so alone, so trying to make all the wrongs right. Her sense of loyalty is uncompromising, her heart so fragile, yet her strength is something I believe we all wish we possessed in some form. I can't wait for the next installment.
