really liked it
bookshelves: artists, children, class, culture-and-meaning, ethnicity, family, family-dynamics, photography, race, relationships, women

Many moving parts to this story of class, mothering, secrets, sibling dynamics, family, and friendships.

When I finished the read, I returned to the beginning and read just the first chapter again. The read ended where it began, else I would have been dissatisfied with the ending, my lament these days after finishing most books I've lately read.
