So far, I've liked all of Sarah Addison Allen's books, including this one. It's an easy and fast read with many of her story trademarks including female main characters, a yearning for something more, the power of friendship, romance, love and a bit of magic. I felt that this one of her books had less of that magical influence but the characters were still engaging and the story charming.

Tess I just read your review-and that's too funny. It's pretty much exactly what I thought of the book too. I wished there were more of that magical influence.

Dawn I'm waiting for another one! I'm in the mood for a story like this right now.

Tess I'm starting Sugar Queen by her tonight. I'm hoping it has that magical spark!
