The Serpent's Secret (Kiranmala and the Kingdom Beyond, #1)

A delightful book that needs a sequel now.
Kiran is a young girl in sixth grade. On her 12 birthday, her parents go missing, a giant demon (called a rakkhosh) destroys her house, and two princes dressed in all blue and red arrive on winged horses. What else can she do but leap into adventure head first?
This book is full of puns and riddles as well as danger and bravery with a dash of demons and magic. It's about learning to trust in who you are despite how others might see you.
Highly recommended for people who need to leave the 2D world behind.
