The Great Gatsby

I'm not really sure what to rate this. It was a weird, slightly unreal, tragic experience. The writing is beautiful, but sometimes I found it hard to understand why certain characters acted the way they did or said the things they said. It seems like everyone in this book has hidden motives, like they are real people whose actions don't always make sense to outside observers. All in all, this was a fascinating look at 1920s America and some of its people; maybe not the most fun read, but definitely interesting.
