A lovely, if rather sad, book. I enjoyed the technique Hodgen employed to allow us to learn about Mary in a convoluted way. the only dud of the five stories was the second one (Elwood La Poer) and it's worth getting through that for the next three, which were excellent. Led to a very good book club discussion.
