I read this book so quickly, but I loved it. The 60 something lady in the story is a little strange at the beginning of the book, but as she mingles with family and friends who have not seen her in years, she takes on a happy being. The story is worth the short quick read that it is.
I enjoyed all of the characters and the story line was good. I would like to visit Nantucket now. Another place to add to my wish list of places to visit.

Ruth I have read other Jane Green books and have enjoyed them. I will have to put this one on my list. I would also like to go to Nantucket. Remember the Nancy Thayer books? She often sets her characters on Nantucket. I think that Barb and my mom and dad and Joe and Emily went there. The photos are beautiful. I would also like to go to Martha's Vineyard. I am about 40 pages away from the end of No! I Don't Want to Join a Book CLub. I consider it a worthwhile read. It has characters that you can relate to along with the things that she says about aging.

Mary I don't remember reading Nancy Thayer books, can you name one? I would like to visit Martha's Vineyard also. I guess I will put that book on my list as well, No, I Don't Want to Join a Book Club, even though I do belong to two different book clubs. Sad isn't? I am using the library and still getting books from the Mystery Guild and doubleday large print book club. Although, I have found all of the books I just received from the library I was able to get large print. That's for old people who are seeing impaired. I don't wear regular glasses now, but I do need they for reading. Have a Happy 4th. We are staying home, I'm making macaroni salad and having hot dogs on the patio. Gram always said it's not the 4th of July unless you have a hot dog in the yard. Cati and Anthony are both working so we will not see they over the weekend.

Ruth It has been a busy few days here. I went to our friend's house on the lake and had a BarBQ and watched the fireworks on the 3rd. They were so pretty. Then last night I went to a BarBQ at our other friend's house and stayed until about 11:15. Larry had made a fast trip down to see his mother because he was concerned about her and wanted to check things out. On the 4th I also went to Syracuse and saw Emily and ran some errands. Today I went to the funeral of our Superintendent's mother and when I got home, Larry was back. YEAH!! Perhaps we will cook something on the grill tonight, too! Tomorrow is church and I will help to serve communion. Emily is at a friend's BarBQ to celebrate her graduation from nursing school and then she might come down here and spend the night. It is nice out so she might want to take a swim. Have a nice picnic. To make it authentic however you would have to have the soda man come and deliver a case of large bottles of soda to the house. Those picnics were one of the few times that we were allowed to have soda! Then afterwards the aunts would play jump rope with us or we would play hopscotch or tap the beach ball back and forth. What good memories! Is Cati on this site as one of your friends?

Mary No, I have not told her about this site. I should though. I have been trying to talk to her all weekend and she is busy with her new training job at Universal. I don't like to bother her at work, so I only have a small window to call her. She is on myspace and facebook, though so I do get to talk once in awhile. Yes I remember those picnics, in fact I have a picture of Gram and her girls in your Mom's backyard. We were a motley looking crew. It must have been after we played games, because we did not look too good. Have a good time this afternoon and play some hopscotch with Em. Talk to you again......
