Solid entry in Butcher's Sentinel series. I liked the added depth of multiple story lines in each book. While the plot concentrates on the main pairing of book, Butcher has also interwoven small sections concerning happenings with other characters. This allows exploraion of the larger Sentinel story that has grown beyond any one singular couple. After finishing the book the reader is set with an anticipation for the next one to be published in order to explore more of the Sentinel story.

As for the main story of Dying Wish, I thought Butcher did a good job of mixing up the expectation of the main couple. Both Iain and Jackie are not necessarily the most likeable of characters in her world. Making this couple the focus of the book was risky, but successful. The reader is not always sure how it will end for either party. Butcher has written it in such a way as to provide a satisfying end.
