it was amazing
bookshelves: classics, christianity
Read from January 12 to March 24, 2012

Every now and again, I get a hankering for Dickens. I think I read him more for the depth of language than the actual story. His words remind me that there is something bigger and greater than the flash bang of pop culture.

This is a good, solid story and everything you would expect from Dickens. I was also struck by the Christian overtones, especially the echos of Joseph's story from Genesis (which I wrote about here)
