What happens when the hunter becomes the hunted? Being in the other shoe is a bitter pill to swallow and it's always going to hurt being the victim. Kate Waters finds herself in a position where, as the mother to Jake she's hounded by the press, some of them her friends and colleagues. As a journalist it's her job to get the next big headline but becoming the headline is not part of the equation and that's exactly what happens when Kate following a story of 2 missing girls in Thailand ends up discovering facts about her own son, Jake. The truth that emerges makes Kate wonder about how ignorant she's about her child.
The story moves thru 3 POV's the Reporter, Kate, the Detective, Bob and the Mother, Lesley. Like all her other books the Suspect is compelling but it totally lacked the edge for a thriller. It was good but not brilliant enough to knock your sock's off.
