Believe it or not, this is the first Stephen King book I've ever read. In fact, I've actively avoided his stuff my entire life. Now I'm wondering what I missed. If anyone has any suggestions, please send 'em my way. I'm itchy to read something else by him.

Yes this is a scary book, but there was one thing that kept me laughing during the entire 600-plus pages. There's a character who peppers his conversation with the occasional Spanish word. This is not a criticism, just something that tickled me. It sounds like he learned Español from listening to old Santana records.

Pancha My housemate is obsessed with the Dark Tower series, although she says the first one is something you need to slog through in order to get to the good stuff of the other books.
