it was amazing

I don't even know how to explain this book, aside from "Read it." It's set over a century or so, starting in the victorian ages (ish) and moving up to modern day. It follows the performers in a magical, time warpy, moving night circus. Primarily, it follows the love story between two sworn enemy magicians pitted against each other in a battle of tricks(view spoiler)

The imagery is breath taking, and although I wasn't REALLY impressed with any of the characters, this was one of the best reads I had all year. The love story is ooey-gooey perfect, and the way the author describes some of the "magic" tricks actually brought tears to my eyes in yearning. Totally worth reading-- but totally a chick book.
