Washington's Spies: The Story of America's First Spy Ring

I think I would have been able to give this a higher rating had I read the print book rather than listening to the audiobook. The narrator's voice gets a bit monotone at times and there are large sections which I believe would just be easier the follow if reading in print.
However, that being said, this is a fascinating story of the first "American" spy ring led by General Washington, among others. I downloaded this as part of a special sale Audible was having many, many months ago and finally got around to listening. You can imagine my surprise when the entire first chapter was detailing the life and times of my own ancestor, Nathan Hale. I learned so many things about his life that I'd never been told before and I was hooked from there.
Also, being a HUGE fan of the Hamilton musical (and all things Hamilton, if we're being honest), this story gave a lot of information about many of the fellows mentioned throughout the Hamilton musical (including Hamilton, himself) which helped tie some loose ends in my knowledge of this period together nicely. Highly recommend for anyone interested in real spy stories, or just learning more about the hijinks it took to get this country started from scratch.
