As someone who is a big believer in limited government, I have always been fascinated by the political landscape during the Civil War. I have about a dozen relatives who fought for the Union. My dream vacation would be to tour battlefields and, let's be honest, I think Lincoln is one of the top three sexiest presidents. This book was great, but too short. It was like a little Lincoln pep rally that got me all worked up for the big game just in time for it to be cancelled. Now I'm in the mood to try Team of Rivals or The Fate of Liberty.

Margaret I just finished Lincoln by David Herbert Duncan, which was pretty interesting - you might like that one. I've read some of those American Presidents books, but they do tend to be pretty short. I've also heard With Malice Toward None is a pretty good one for Lincoln, but my library didn't have it!
