A great story, even if the writing itself was a bit mediocre. What the author lacks in writing skill she makes up for in weaving a great story. I did find it hard to believe the speed with which the relationships developed between Laura and Dylan and especially between Dylan and Emma, a seriously traumatised child. Within the time span of this book, it was hard to believe these relationships could have developed as they did in the midst of so much turmoil. Still, laying aside the implausibility of the characters developing as they did and the "easy read" writing style, I found it hard to put down with all of the plot twists and turns.
