The Ruinous Sweep is a thrilling murder mystery that will keep you guessing long after you have finished the book. As Donovan floats between his past memories and current situation, he is desperately trying to communicate with his girlfriend Beatrice. The reader is constantly trying to determine what is real and what is illusion all the while trying to guess who murdered Donovan's father. The mystical elements run seamlessly throughout the novel and readers are taken on a brilliantly original story that ends is a surprisingly comforting and touching way. Highly recommended for older teens who enjoy cannot-put-down page-turners.
