Wow, that was some ride! 4.5 stars. I'll be back with more of a review.

Update: I read a lot of psychological suspense books and I continue to be amazed at how authors keep coming up with various plot twists that boggle the mind, and this was no exception.

Aimee's story switches back and forth in time from present day where she is a B-actress working in a movie to her childhood where she was abducted to replace a couple's dead daughter. I spent a lot of time trying to figure it out and while I suspected something near the end, I was only partially correct. In retrospect, I should have just let the story unfold without thinking too much about it.

Feeney's first book, Sometimes I Lie, was a mind-bender in the best way, with an ending that readers are still discussing. This book's ending isn't nearly as ambiguous but the way the plot snaked around left me breathless. And that ending! While not as cryptic, is still discussion worthy.

Minor Spoiler: There was a bit of an "ick" factor near the end but the author handled it very well.

Thanks to the publisher (Macmillan) for the advance digital reading copy.
