did not like it
bookshelves: abandoned, non-fiction, reviewed

Someone gave me this because I was truly in the throes of an existential crisis. Unfortunately, between the golly-gee attitude and the 'you are special because you are average' mantra, I found this book only made the situation worse.

The optimistic inanity of the author simply made me realize that the source of my depression is people like her. I really feel no human connection for the sort of person who would actually be inspired by this empty, little book.

I feel bad for laughing. I don't think the first paragraph was supposed to be humorous but the irony!

Jonathan Peto I was about to write a comment that I realized was probably another example of optimistic inanity.

J.G. Keely Well, happens to all of us, now and then.

Uncommon Sellsword said: "I don't think the first paragraph was supposed to be humorous . . ."

Can't it be humorous and kind of depressingly true at the same time?
