really liked it

I just gave five stars to American Pastoral so I can't also give five to the latest Jackson Brodie. But its not really fair to compare.

If you haven't read Atkinson, I recommend highly that you do. I'm not aware of any other author who can write a whodunnit as literature. It's a bit disconcerting to be reading along and thinking, "it must have been so-and-so in library with the lead pipe," along with, "what is the difference between the law and the outlaw then, is it intent? Its clearly not behavior or even societal expectation." Atkinson is like the educated Lehane. All of the intrigue but add existentialism and a lot of fun literary references.
