This is one of my least favorite books from this series. Part of the problem is that I listened to portions of the story on audio, and, after listening to C.J. Critt narrate so many Patricia Cornwell novels, the narrator of this book just paled in comparison. I got used to her as I went on, but even after I did, the story still wasn't that interesting to me. There were a lot of elements that either didn't ring true (Tempe getting so much help from a twelve-year-old kid) or had been used in too many other books from the series (Tempe and Ryan not getting along; Tempe finding herself alone and in grave danger), and I just didn't enjoy the book as much as I did the two or three titles preceding it.
