Joy Lol that's what happens when you give in, go against your instincts, and read something you don't think you'll like? I'm sorry you didn't like it though.

Francine Well, I remember reading it in seventh grade and liking it but now that I've re-read it, I don't know what I was thinking. Mind you, I like it better that Catcher in the Rye but by much. :-)

Did you read it and if so, did you like it?

Stacy The Great Gatsby -- Feh.
I love The Catcher.

Joy I have not read either, if you were asking me. Now I don't know if I ever will lol.

Francine I've read Catcher about half a dozen times hoping that I would eventually come to appreciate it. It just never happened. The writing is partly to blame, I think. Well, these are just my opinions. Don't let it color your decision to not read these.

Stacy: just not my cup o'tea. :-)

Stacy We all like to read different stuff. If we all enjoyed the same books, the world would be pretty boring, no?

Terra Funny - I plan to read this book again this year. I remember it being great. However, it has been about 20 years since I've read it. It might not be as good as I remembered. I'll let you know. I love The Catcher.

message 8: by Jason (new) - added it

Jason this was one of the better ones, but yes, i agree.

FoodxHugs Yes! I have to agree with you. I'm sick of The American Dream as a major theme (hey! That rhymes). lol
