It seems that I've read a trilogy of multi-narrator novels to end the summer and begin the fall. Of the three, this most convincingly brought real characters to life. Whereas The House of Broken Angels felt cookie-cutteresque and the Koolaids seemed to sometimes blend together, There There featured characters who seemed engaged in unique struggles of life course and identity, and those struggles, I thought, teetertottered nicely between disconnects and connections with the characters' Native American heritage in ways that seemed fresh. //
