Caldecott winner 1954

I grew up reading Madeline, so I loved re-reading this one!

I love how the illustrator transitions between the yellow/black/white and full color illustrations.

Favorite line:
Madeline jumped on a chair. "Lord Cucuface," she cried, "beware! Miss Genevieve, noblest dog in France, You shall have your VEN-GE-ANCE!"
-- You've just gotta love Madeline and her over-the-top-ness (yes, I made that up).
