Patricia Cornwell is in a serious downward spiral. This book was so dull; I could barely get through it. Listening makes it even harder because I can't skim the same way I can with the written word. The dialogue is flat. The characters are either spinning long tales of potential theories or giving the technical dimensions of their armaments and equipment. Instead of saying "I have my gun with me." They will say something like "I have my Smith & Wesson 42XGF with the 2600 millimeter gun shaft and the carbon loaded filament."

Ugh - so sorry to Kay Scarpetta in such poor hands. She was a great character.
