Oh my gosh! This was a freaking amazing ending to this story!
Amari is in danger of going rogue once her transition is upon her. When Jaxon’s plan to help connect with her animal ends in almost disaster, she realizes she must take her own drastic steps in order to protect him. However, Jaxon is not one to let go without a fight and in this case that includes hunting her down.
This was a deep emotional read in regards to the mental connections Amari must submit to, and even initiate herself. Talk about romance! When Jaxon reaches her through their mental link there is nothing to describe the beauty of his care for her and her animal.
I’m absolutely in love with Jaxon and his cadre. They each bring a different flavor to the story along with a deep sense of loyalty and brotherhood. In addition, they supply just enough humor to lighten the heaviness of fear and worry that surrounds what the future holds for Amari. This story does take a turn towards the end that I wasn’t a fan of and I have to admit, I hope future books do not go in the direction these scenes hinted at. Some readers will absolutely love it, and I will say they are beautifully written with intense depth and emotion, but they are not to my particular taste.
The drama in this installment of the trilogy is lessened as it deals mostly with Amari’s transition being what I consider mid-angst rather than heavy. There are a few loose ends that I hope will be closed in future books…please let there be future books! The pace is smooth and fluid, the heat level while not prevalent throughout, when it arises it ranges from that wonderful soul stirring this-is-love type of steam to full out heat of volcanic proportions.
I highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys dragon shifters, this one has enough that your heart will sing!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
